I have a question for you all.
I recently broke up with my girlfriend and was going though my collection from her and previous ex girlfriends and realized that I have quite a large collection.
I just wanted to ask how many pairs in a collection constitutes too many ???

How can you ever tell? Obsession knows no boundarys.
I get all worked up for a pair of shoes, and two weeks later looking for another pair. Im even going backwards in my life collecting shoes that turned me on in the 80's (thank God for eBay)
so to answer your question, I have no freakin' clue!
My wife has almost one hundred pairs of boot$$$, and I would imagine 20 or so black pumps, red pumps, white pumps, some blue pumps, some yellow pumps, some mules, come clogs etc. So much so we rotate them in and out of our home.
One of the things about winter, boots come back into bedroom closets!
so, make us all happy, and figure out how to post photos, and get on with it

I would certainly agree with rotating them. Pick out the 10 or so boots and shoes that currently make you the hardest and put the rest in storage. Don't throw away anything or you may live to regret it. Years ago I got tired of an aunt's pair of spike-heeled pumps and threw them out. Now I can't find ones like it anywhere.

The only issue is that I have little or no room, where I currently live, to store everything and live with people who would ask too many questions if they knew about my collection.
I am thinking about giving some of the shoes away or selling them or something.

Enough is never is enough, just buy a box of some sort and toss about 2 locks on it. A safe from the store wouldnt be a bad investment to secure your prize possessions.

I just tell people that I'm a shoe collector. Which happens to be the truth. I just don't tell everyone what I do with my "private" shoe collections.
