I like riding boots too except that I don't like the way the outside of the shaft is typically 2 or 3 inches higher than the inside. Somebody might ask "hey where's your horse". It barely misses a true mid-knee or over-the-knee length. I think I would buy my wife a pair if they could adjust the height, but the Frye over-the-knee styles are almost ideal for her and affordable. She prefers boots that have thick leather uppers and stitched or nailed soles that can stand hard use. If you added spurs to that you wouldn't mind that it isn't a true equestrian boot!
