site organization
Hi all. So this site is so so old as we all know by now. One thing I've noticed is that searching within topics limits the results to be the most recent 100, while many videos get buried. How would we feel about moving off of the tons of sneaker videos topic to more specific branded topics? It could help lessen the load of a topic that has almost 700 pages lol.

Sick. I'll start later with a Nike topic when I wanna gather my shox and tn vids. I wish you create subtopics though and pinned topics, but oh well.

First of all I don't understand what problem you are encountering while searching through topics. I have never had any problems and I can usually find everything I'm looking for, even the really old stuff. So I don't see any problems regarding that, but maybe tell me more so I can understand.
Secondly, I think dividing the "Tons of sneakers videos" in more topics will make more harm than anything. The topic has at most five or so replies a day, so dividing it into a topic for every brand/sneaker will definetly reduce that. Especially for those sneakers that don't get featured in a lot of videos. If you want to have a more user friendly topic and make it easier to search within the topic, the solution is far easier and it doesn't require to abandon the main topic: just put a specific subject when posting something. Instead of leaving the standard "Re: Tons of sneaker videos" subject, you can put in the subject the brand or specific model of the shoe. This way it's easier to find and it doesn't require a gazillion of new small topics that will inevitably involve less people and far less posts.
As you said the forum is getting old, there are always new users but also a good chunk of "historical" users, we should try to mantain all that's good and is still remaining and I think dividing the topic is a great risk for a little reward.

Re: site organization
I wanted to comment that Im also struggeling to find specific old posts with the regular searchbar, if I try to find the word "Shox", it will only display results up to 2021 and then jump to results from old random years, and there's a gap from 2020 to 2017 minimum, So i don't know if I have to set up the advance search with something to find old posts or something

Literally my same problem. I've been here for while and I know that they exist in the 400s and shit. I know we didn't have five years of no new posts.SilverCooler1500 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 28, 2023 9:28 am I wanted to comment that Im also struggeling to find specific old posts with the regular searchbar, if I try to find the word "Shox", it will only display results up to 2021 and then jump to results from old random years, and there's a gap from 2020 to 2017 minimum, So i don't know if I have to set up the advance search with something to find old posts or something
However, Simone has a point. It's known, and then it's possible that topics get lost in the past. Idk what to do about it, I just wanna make it better lol

Hmmm, I'm not sure it needs to be wholly reorganized, but my pet peeve is that sneakers, uggs, crocs and slippers shouldn't be on the same forum.
