I have installed new functionality to hopefully help us control our spammer and moron problem. I believe new users' first posts would need to be approved by a moderator before any of their posts or private messages show up. So moderators, please check your MODERATOR CONTROL PANEL > MODERATION QUEUE and approve any non spammer, non moron posts. Once the first post is approved, the new user should be able to post normally. If any of you have time to create a new test user and test this thoroughly I would appreciate the help.
I believe the moron has already created a new user and has posts in the moderation queue. Moderators, can you see his posts? Please feel free to experiment with the options you have to deal with him and PM me with the results. Non-moderators, can you see the moron?
I believe there is other functionality I have not tested such as being able to flag users and/or posts to prevent them from being displayed. I have not tested this yet so if you figure out the details, please let me know.
If you find any functionality you feel could be damaging to the forum, please let me know.

+1 you'd think that a forum such as this one, that has a specific purpose would be annoyance free, but alas.. where there's forums, there will always be spammers and drama-whores. hopefully what you put in place will stop that from happening!
