I quite like this geocache idea. The official website wants money to pin point them if I recall. But could always use what3words for loaction.

Geocaching.com has a free account for most of the caches. It is possible to create a shoe geocache without paying any money.
In their terms of use one could for example use a old chunky heel shoe nailed on a tree with the cache name "rotten heel ' and the logbook could be hidden in in the block heel.

No, it isn't pointless because everyone from every nation could create shoe related geocaches.
You could create one for example and let us know how it goes by pictures and reports of the findings. For Geocachers that would be a spoiler but for us it will be exiting shoe fun.
